Yes. If you have a good result after the first course of PRP, then you can request to have another treatment after 12 months.
Depending on individual requirements, PRP can be repeated every 12 months.
The treatment will take approximately 30 minutes.
It is generally recommended to avoid consuming large meals four hours prior to treatment. We recommend avoiding any fatty foods (dairy, meat, oils) on the day of treatment, in order to achieve the best results. It’s fine to drink water or tea/coffee without milk. This is part of our procedure. The local anaesthetic is not injected into the joint cavity itself and will not interfere with the healing properties of the PRP treatment.
Do not take any anti-inflammatories. It is acceptable to take paracetamol, codeine or tramadol. Please consult with your doctor prior to taking medications.
Yes. It is generally fine to drive after treatments. If you are concerned, then contact us directly.
It is recommended to avoid any strenuous exercise for two weeks after the injections. No exercise should be taken on the first day of treatment. Do not do anything that may cause or increase pain. Gentle exercise is acceptable after the first 48 hours following treatment. Email us if you have any specific questions.
